Stride is a social step-competition app. This policy explains exactly what it collects, why, and how to get rid of it.
Health data
With your permission Stride reads your daily step count from Apple Health. Nothing else from Health is read, ever. Step totals are used to score your leagues, races and streaks, so your daily step total is uploaded to our server and shown to people you compete with — your league group, your friends, and anyone in a race with you. Individual samples, workouts, locations and routes are never read or uploaded. Health data is never used for advertising and is never sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.
Account data
- Email address — to sign you in. Sign in with Apple may give us a private relay address instead; if you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us and nothing else.
- Username, display name and profile photo — shown to other players. You choose all three.
- Friends, friend requests, blocks and reports — to run the social features and keep them safe.
- League and race results — your history, and your place in other people's.
- Purchase status — whether you own Stride Pro. Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card.
Diagnostics
Stride uses Apple's MetricKit to record crashes on your device. That data stays on your device unless you choose to include it in a support email. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no third-party tracker in the app.
Where it lives
Account and competition data is stored on Supabase, our hosting provider, and is protected by row-level security so you can only read what you're entitled to see. Notifications are delivered by Apple.
Your control
- Delete everything: Settings › Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, steps, results, friendships and photo. It cannot be undone.
- Revoke Health access at any time in the Health app › Sharing › Apps. Stride keeps working; leagues simply stop scoring.
- Blocking: a blocked account can't see you, contact you, or find you in search.
- Export or correction: email us and we'll send or fix your data.
Children
Stride is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the app will tell you before the change takes effect.
